Garden For All (G4A), a Ghana-based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting home and community gardening, successfully organized a free Home Gardening Workshop for residents of the Greater Accra Region on Saturday, 15th November, 2025, at Rene’s Services, Lashibi–Tema, Ghana. The initiative forms part of G4A’s mission to ensure that every home in Ghana has access to safe, healthy, and sustainably grown food.

The training was facilitated by Dr. Frank Kwekucher Ackah, Executive Director of Garden For All and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Crop Science, University of Cape Coast. Participants received hands-on guidance on key techniques in home gardening, including garden establishment, soil fertility improvement, water-use efficiency, and pest and disease management.

A unique highlight of the event was the Gardeners Choice Awards, introduced to recognize and celebrate dedicated home gardeners who are making strides in sustainable food production at the household level. Award winners expressed appreciation for the acknowledgment and for the continuous support offered by G4A.

In addition to learning sessions, participants received free seeds and seedlings to support the start or expansion of their home gardens. The event concluded with a lively barbecue party and socialization, creating networking opportunities and strengthening community bonds.

Speaking after the workshop, Dr. Ackah emphasized the significance of home gardening in enhancing food security and promoting healthy lifestyles. He encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained and contribute to building greener, more food-secure communities.

Garden For All continues to expand its outreach across the country, empowering households with practical skills to grow their own nutritious food while fostering environmental sustainability.
