Garden For All (G4A) successfully organized a home and community gardening training workshop in the Central Region on 13th December 2025 at the Capevars Community Garden, University of Cape Coast (UCC).

The training focused on practical home gardening techniques, facilitated by Dr. Frank Kwekucher Ackah, Founder of Garden For All (Home Gardening Ghana). Participants also received training in composting, led by Ama Beausoleil of AgroEcological.com, highlighting sustainable ways of improving soil fertility using locally available materials.

Participants came from different parts of the Central Region, with some traveling from Takoradi to take part in the program. The high level of participation and enthusiasm reflected the growing interest in home and community gardening. Participants expressed appreciation for the practical nature of the training and requested that similar programs be extended to their communities.

To support participants in putting their knowledge into practice, free seeds and seedlings were distributed. The session ended with renewed commitment from participants to establish and expand home gardens.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Frank Kwekucher Ackah assured participants that Garden For All will continue to extend the training to other regions across Ghana. He also called on the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and other stakeholders to partner with Garden For All to promote home and community gardening as a key strategy for food security, nutrition, and sustainable livelihoods.

Garden For All remains committed to empowering households and communities through practical, sustainable gardening education.
